Features to consider before purchase solar panel battery
Solar panel deserves better storage. You should always check the key features in the solar panel battery before you made the final decision. Let’s discuss these features one by one that makes your choice easier and perfect.
1- Budget
The budget is obviously the very first feature you should consider. If you would have a clear cut budget range in your mind, then it will definitely save you from huge confusion. You pay for whatever you buy. So, if you pay big; you will get more features and if you pay small; you will get fewer features.
In short, fix your budget range first and then list down the features you want, priority vise.
As lithium-ion battery would cost you higher but if your budget is not high you may consider the AGM or lead-acid battery type covering the maximum features at the top priority of your list.
2- Battery Storage Capacity
Always keep in mind that you should have an eye on the storage capacity of solar panel battery. I will definitely say that you would get the best battery for solar storage in your budget range if you focus on this feature. Ah (Amp-Hour) is the unit in which battery capacity is generally measured.
I would like to tell you one very good point that a solar panel battery with high power and less capacity can be enough for your full home energy requirements, but for the limited hours. Alternatively, a battery with less power and high capacity would be enough for a long time but for limited applications.
In short, always try to get a solar panel battery with high capacity and high power.
3- Time of Charging
How long a battery would take to charge is another question that can’t be ignored at any cost. In my opinion, gel batteries get charged in a small time. Lithium-ion batteries also charged within 3 hours or more. If battery charging time is your main concern with a low budget, gel batteries (see solar panel battery types below) are best for you.
As far as the concern of flood acid battery, it takes almost a full day to be fully charged. At this point, if you feel easy to allow it to be charged for a whole day and want to enjoy the minimum maintenance, this type of battery is definitely for you (check the next section to know more).
4- Lifespan of Battery
Another very important consideration is the lifespan of the battery. Get the correct information about the lifespan of the battery in question. As different batteries hold different lifespans before become less functional.
All this depends upon the battery technology, brand, and type. In a nutshell, you have to pay high to get this feature. The best practice is that keep in check the customer’s reviews and ratings about the battery in question. This will surely help you to get the final decision.
5- Warranty by manufacturers
Most people normally don’t bother about the warranty given by the battery manufacturers. But this practice should not be ignored. If you pay more for a good solar panel battery, you should enjoy its long warranty time.
A more trustworthy brand always charges high and gives you a long span of warranty time. The duration of 20 or 30 years is good for the warranty. So, always try to get the battery with the highest warranty time.

4- Gel Batteries
ML35-12 Gel – 12 Volt 35AH Rechargeable Gel Type Battery Review

The last type of battery we will discuss is Gel Battery, an additional type of lead-acid battery (sealed). Specifically designed for deep cycle operations, gel batteries work with a fumed form of silica to generate the factor that makes the electrolyte dense.
You know what?
In addition to durability, gel batteries demand zero maintenance. Moreover, these kinds of batteries offer you an excellent feature of shock resistance.
Enjoy its life cycle in the range of environmental conditions (both cold and hot climates). The gummy electrolyte of this solar panel battery makes it less liable to seep in case of a scratch.
However, if I highlight its cons, gel batteries share a greater part of it in contrast with other types. They have stronger behavior towards self-discharge as compare to the flooded type of batteries. Small charging design is one of its most typical negative points. They are prone to sudden overcharged due to their small voltage of charging. This expensive solar panel battery produces different amounts of electricity that make them prone to overcharge.

I have installed LIVE FAST SOLAR PANELS N BATTERIES OF 200 AH LAST YEAR….10 SOLAR PANELS n 8 LARGE SIZES ACID BATTERIES….SO FAR SO GOOD…..KINDLY ADVICE FOR MAINTENANCE!
Acid batteries are middle cost batteries, hence demand regular check up and maintenance. But, at the same time, there is not rocket science behind it’s maintenance.Make sure the Batteries are in a covered box that is vented to let fumes from charge and discharge cycles to escape. Similar to the kind used on power boats. Cover all connections in a Protective Non-Conductive Grease to Stop them from Corroding and make sure the Water Levels are kept up to cover the Plates using Ionized Water that has no Impurities in it. Check each Cell once a week with a Hydrometer to ensure the Battery Acid is Balanced Sell to Cell and adjust any differences with Battery Acid. For further assistance, check this link.
Check summer battery if you need.
